Due to certain spillover effects, the importance of foreign direct investment in developing economies has increased significantly in the last decades. As a consequence, the biggest and most influential emerging markets Brazil, Russia, India and China have shown a considerably high interest in international investors. Hence, government policies and other incentives try to influence the type and amount of foreign investment flows coming into their country.
