Loss of biodiversity is one of the deepest concerns in today’s world. Among others, birds are considered as good biodiversity indicators, which makes it possible to use bird monitoring data to track changes in biodiversity over a period. This book is based on a postgraduate research conducted at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development. The research analysed bird monitoring data from Quillow catchment, north-east Germany, to detect any change in biodiversity between two observation periods. This book explains the research activities including creating a database application which facilitates the data analysis. This may greatly help students, teachers and researchers involved in similar studies. Plus, a novice programmer may find the book useful to write an application for his/her own specific needs.
